Tutor Help
Your guide to teaching on WebLab Academy
Use this guide to set up your tutor presence, stay organized with students, manage lesson requests, and keep your teaching workflow professional.
Setup Checklist
- Complete your tutor application and keep your public profile clear and accurate.
- Add the subjects you can teach or request approval for subjects that are missing.
- Set availability so students know when you can realistically teach.
- Use the tutor portal to manage lessons, students, messages, homework, and earnings.
Profile Tips
Lead with the subjects you teach, the level you are comfortable with, and how students can prepare.
A strong profile sounds specific, trustworthy, and student-friendly. Avoid promises about guaranteed marks.
Approval and Subjects
Tutor accounts and public profiles may need admin approval before appearing in the marketplace. Keep your display name, bio, photo, and subjects accurate so students understand what you can teach.
If a subject is missing, submit a subject request from the tutor portal. Add enough context for admins to understand what the subject covers and why students need it.
Availability and Calendar
Keep availability realistic and update it when your schedule changes. Students rely on this when deciding whether you are a good fit.
If calendar integration is enabled, use it to reduce clashes and help create smoother lesson scheduling. Remove unavailable slots before students try to book them.
Lessons, Students, and Homework
Before each lesson, review the student's recent messages, homework, and learning path. After the lesson, leave clear next steps so the student knows what to practice.
Homework feedback should be specific, kind, and actionable. Point out what worked, what needs attention, and the smallest next step the student should take.
Professional Communication
Keep student communication inside the platform whenever possible. Be respectful, respond within a reasonable time, and avoid requesting sensitive personal information that is not needed for learning.
If a student misses a lesson, payment looks wrong, or a safety concern appears, contact support with the student name, lesson time, and a concise explanation.
Earnings and Payout Questions
Use the earnings area in your tutor portal to review recorded teaching activity and payout-related information. If something looks incorrect, contact support with the lesson date, student name, and what you expected to see.
